Usage Guidelines

Study rooms are reserved online on a first come, first served basis and are open to UCI students only. Reservations are required using a current UCInetID and can only be made using this system. Reservations may be made in advance up to the hour prior to desired start time, pending room availability.

Community Rules apply. All individuals and groups agree to arrive and depart on time and in an orderly fashion. All study areas must be left clean and undamaged. Items should not be taped on the walls. Chairs and other furnishings should not be moved into other rooms. A quiet respect in the lounge and study rooms is expected at all times. Study rooms are intended for study purposes only—the holding of meetings, conferences, or any other large gathering is strictly prohibited. Canceling a reservation before the scheduled start time will release the room for others to reserve.

By reserving a Courtyard Study Lounge Room, you are agreeing to these Usage Guidelines and the Student Center & Event Services Privacy Policy & Terms of Use. Student Center & Event Center reserves the right to revise or amend these Usage Guidelines or its Privacy Policy & Terms of Use without notice. Students who do not comply with these Guidelines risk losing study room privileges.

Restrictions Apply

All rooms are available on a first come, first served basis for up to 40 hours per quarter per student. Login to view the number of hours remaining in your account. Unused hours cannot be carried over. Students who have exceeded their maximum allowable hours will not be permitted to book a room for the remainder of the quarter. Multiple reservations are permissible and can be viewed or deleted at any time.

Reservations are limited to a one-hour minimum and a six-hour maximum per booking.

Reservation Hours

  • Rooms available: 7:30 a.m. – 11:30 p.m. seven days a week
  • Rooms will be available 24 hours a day during fall, winter, and spring finals
  • Rooms are closed on all University holidays

Confirm or Cancel a Reservation

Selecting View or Cancel Reservation will display the start and end times, date, room assignments and group size. To change a reservation, you must cancel the reservation you want to change and create a new one. You will immediately receive an onscreen confirmation of the cancellation. If the room has been cancelled before the scheduled start time, the room will be released for another student to reserve. The duration from cancelled reservations will be returned to your pool of total bookable hours for the quarter.
