Student Center Board of Advisors
Objective
The purpose of the UCI Student Center Board of Advisors is to improve the Center’s operations and offerings. The Board of Advisors:

makes recommendations to ensure the fiscal soundness and efficiency of the Student Center.

suggests measures to meet the diverse needs of the campus community by encouraging quality social, cultural, and intellectual activities along with appropriate support services.
The Board of Advisors is comprised of at-large student members, representation from Student Government, staff, and a representative from the Alumni Association. The Board of Advisors meets every other week during the academic year.

Meeting Dates
The Student Center Board of Advisors is interested in hearing suggestions and comments from the campus community. The meetings are held every other week from 4-5pm in the Aliso Beach B conference room in the Student Center and are open to the public.

For formal proposals to the Student Center Board of Advisors, suggestions for improvement or additions to the facility, please contact the Board by emailing scboard@uci.edu or calling 949.824.4957 to make a request to be added to the next meeting agenda. In preparing your presentation, please provide information about the benefits to the campus, any potential costs associated and a business plan if applicable.

Student Center Finance Manager – Lease negotiations and approval (18-24 month process)
Project Schedule - If Approved
Project Administration – Architect contract (15 days)
Design - Field investigation, construction document (55 days)
* Bid/Award – Bid contract, set, pre-bid, bidding, bid opening, contract process/award (45 days)
Construction – NTP, actual construction, punch list, certificate of occupancy (50 days)
Move-in/Set up – Equipment, furniture (15 days)
* All contingent upon Fire Marshall approval of construction documents.
